
Being one of Europe´s most famous female bass players, Lindy Huppertsberg started with Germany´s well known Barrelhouse Jazzband 1979 while studying at the university of
music in Mayence/Germany.
1987 she formed her own German-American quartet Lady Bass & The Real Gone Guys.
In 1994 she added the sensational mainstream-band The Swinging Ladies with four female top soloists from the US and herself.
2003 she formed the second, very successful female band WitchCraft with Anke Helfrich (piano) and Carola Grey (drums). This band gained fame very quickly in all of Europe and sold 2000 CD´s per year during live performances.
Her big idol and teacher Ray Brown named her “Lady Bass”. The strong and swinging bass lines and scats of Lindy Huppertsberg are often requested for international line-ups. She performed in over 60 countries with continuous success.
In 2001 she became an honorary citizen of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Beneath her own bands and international line-ups she was co-producer of the reknown International Jazz Festival at Sea from 1986 - 2000. Being in demand as a workshop teacher she developes also concert lectures for various subjects in jazz.
2006 came a change in the line-up of WitchCraft: Yelena Jurayeva (piano) and Angela Frontera (drums,perc,vocals) brought new impulses and challenges, broadening the band sound significantly.
2008 Lindy Huppertsberg & Centerpiece was born - the result of a long existing wish to team up with Thilo Wagner (piano) and Gregor Beck (drums), extendible to a quintet with Patrick Artero (trumpet) and Matthias Seuffert (sax).
